About the winemaker
Meet Sebastien Fezas from Domaine Jean Daugé in the Gers. If he hadn’t taken on the family estate in 2019, he’d be an athlete: rugby and volley ball, one foot in the mud and the other on dry land…the man is tall, but better described as lithe and supple through the glass eye of his wines. He works 24 hectares of vines, organically, biodynamically, naturally. Mainly local grape varieties - Gros Manseng, Colombard, Ugni Blanc, Tannat, and he’s replanting 4 more plots with other crops. He collaborates with top winemakers in Jurançon and the Loire, but also makes his own wines from 2 or 3 hectares of vines, and they are delicious. Two key words: Freshness & Tension.
