Hello, I’m JOANNE

I’m from Liverpool originally, but I’ve been living in France for 30 years.

I’ve worked for several wine & spirits brands as a creative strategist and copywriter, but my true wine journey really began in Southwest France.

In 2018, we moved to Espinas, a little village on a rocky outcrop near Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, between Toulouse, Montauban and Albi.

It didn’t take me long to fall in love with the local wines —organic, biodynamic and natural wines made from rare and ancient grape varieties by a new generation of committed growers.‍ ‍

During covid, I visited the vineyards, read voraciously and passed a few wine exams: the WSET level 3 in wines and Franck Thomas Certificate in Intuitive and Geo-sensory tasting.

I explored the Southwest from Bergerac to the Basque Country, the Massif Central to the Pyrenees, and discovered a world of wines unto itself, still largely off the international radar.

So in 2023, I opened a wine shop in the stables beneath our home and began to host tastings - and in 2026, I became an export agent for a hand-picked selection of growers across the region.

Ring the bell if you’re passing!

We’re always happy to share our wines with you.

Old rustic wooden double doors slightly ajar, built into a stone wall, with greenery in front.
A black and white sign with large bold text reading 'Micro Cave, Vins, open' and smaller text 'Ring the Bell'. The sign is propped against a stone and brick wall near a metal bell hanging from a stone post, with an outdoor setting featuring steps, greenery, and a house in the background.
