About Me
Hello, I’m Joanne. I’m from Liverpool originally and have been living in France for almost 30 years.
I arrived in Southwest France in 2018 via Paris and the Perche in Lower Normandy - in a little village called Espinas, 10k from Saint Antonin Noble Val, between Cahors, Montauban, Toulouse and Albi.
It didn’t take me long to fall in love with the local wines: organic, biodynamic and natural wines made from rare and indigenous rape varieties by a new generation of passionate producers.
They sent me on a trip, a sort of Southwest wine version of the Arabian nights where one story leads to another — another grower. another grape variety, another terroir…
I visited the vineyards, went to wine fairs, read voraciously, passed a few wine exams, and then in 2023, I opened this wine shop in an old stable beneath our home and began to host tastings, because there’s so much to discover on our doorstep.
