About the winemaker

Duncan grew up at Château de Mayragues, a medieval castle and the first certified biodynamic vineyard in Gaillac. After qualifying as an architect, he returned to the estate to focus on the family’s line of fine natural wines: “It’s non-stop, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. If I wanted an easier life, less work and more volume, I could cut down some trees, spray the vines with pesticides and machine-harvest my grapes, but I’m more interested in the life of the soils and the quality and authenticity of my wines.”
