About the Winemaker

Laurent (Lolo) Marre was born in the Lot in 1968 - music lover, climber, rugby fan, biker, traveller, sommelier and founder of a “A Lot Of Wine” wine bar in Paris…and since 2018, reputed winegrower at Domaine Le Vent des Jours on the limestone plateau of Cahors

Dry stone walls, Jurassic soils, lavender, olive trees, holm oaks and vines under big, moody, January skies…From the XL terrace that backs onto the winery, you can take it all in, and get a peek of the Pyrennees

Lolo met his wife, Nathalie, also a sommelier, in Paris. He wooed her in the good old fashioned way, with a good bottle of wine and talk of what is and what could be. Now she’s a farrier, horse-drawn carriage driver and ploughwoman at the reins of the vineyard’s equine team. The horses plough, the sheep mow and Pollux the dog keeps everyone on the go…

Old Malbec, Merlot and Jurançon Noir meet young Syrah and Pinot Noir- and Gros Manseng, Ugni blanc, Chenin and Trousseau for the whites.
