A Fleur de Peau 2023

€20.00

Bousselet à fleur de peau. A pristine orange wine - spicy orange wine with notes of mandarin, kumquat and saffron. Pair

de-stemmed, gently macerated for 10 days in concrete tanks and aged for 1 year in 500l barrels before bottling on 24 September. It’s a pristine orange wine, spicy with gourmet notes of mandarin, kumquat and saffron. Pair with coconut shrimp curry, mushroom and parmesan risotto, mediterranean roast chicken with herbs and citron confit…or just a mature cheese, like Tomme or an intense and fruity Compté: it’s a food pairing dream.

The Bouysselet grape variety is endemic to Fronton. It was re-discovered in Villaudric by Diane and Phillipe Cauvin who grafted cuttings onto old vines at La Colombière in 2011 and 2015. Today it is protected by the AOC and is one of the most exciting up & coming grape variety in the Southwest: a descendent of Savagnin (Jura) and the Plant de Cauzette (Béarn). Don’t hesitate to discover the Grand B, a gastronomic white wine crafted from Bouysselet at Château La Colombière too!
