The Contrastes team likes to tease.

Of course some regions are more hyped up than others. In the Southwest, we're pretty relaxed about it, even though natural wine has played a big part in promoting regions that weren't previously recognised as prestigious wine-growing areas. However, the image attached to us is sometimes hard to shake off: the reds are tannic, the whites are flat, they lack Chenin and Savagnin 😄 But winemakers from other regions love us! Especially during the harvest, when the weather’s been unkind everywhere else, and our vines are producing magnificent grapes.

For a long time, it was difficult to get into Parisian wine cellars and trendy restaurants because the clichés die hard. It’s thanks to the daring winemakers who paved the way for young growers in the Southwest that things are changing today.

In the wake of the Riouspeyrous, Grussaute, Andiran and Plageoles families, a whole host of newcomers have arrived with fresh ideas and clean wines, much to the delight of wine cellars…everywhere!

The Contrastes Wine Fair is:

  • 0% grape trade

  • 100% grower grapes

  • Hand-picked

  • Certified organic

  • Indigenous yeasts

  • 0% traumatic oenological practices
